The Printers Row Book Fair, otherwise known as the Midwest's largest literary event, happened on June 7 and 8, 2008. We had a wonderful time and can't wait for next year!

At the Fair, Open Books hosted a tent for book sales and literacy awareness. Poets and authors from our programs at Schiller Elementary School, Perspectives Charter School, and Corliss High School read from their poetry and novels. We conducted prose and poetry writing workshops, passed out bookmarks, escorted authors to events, helped with kids' activities, survived the storm, and generally had an action-packed weekend of literary bliss in the company of 90,000 other book lovers from all over the region.

To see what it looked like, check out the photos. Thanks so much to all who made it happen, and we'll see you in 2009!
