Volunteering with Open Books
Our corps of dedicated volunteers make it possible for us to expand access to high-quality programming, books, and literacy resources. From 1:1 coaching with 1st and 2nd graders, to shelving books in our retail locations, to granting books to families at community events, the work our volunteers do ensures that all Chicago children have what they need to become lifelong readers.
Please create an account in Timecounts, our volunteer management system, and submit your application here to begin volunteering. We are currently processing a high volume of new applicants and will be in touch as soon as possible with next steps. We appreciate your patience and are excited to welcome you to the team soon.
