Imagination Library Kick-Off in North Lawndale! Storytime, Free Books & Toy Giveaway!

Open Books is teaming up with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and Illinois Action for Children, inviting all families in the North Lawndale neighborhood out on Saturday, December 22nd to The Skyline Conference Room at 3750 W. Ogden Ave for the official Imagination Library kick-off event from 11 am – 1 pm.
There, we will be signing up families in the community for the Imagination Library program, giving away free books and toys for the holidays, and hosting a very special Storytime featuring readings from:
Israel Idonije reading from I Love Me!
Veronica Appleton reading from Journey to Appleville
Corey D. Williams reading from Justin the Good Listener
We have also invited out various North Lawndale community organizations to promote their respective services for those in attendance.
Each month, the Imagination Library mails a high quality, age appropriate book to all registered children ages 0-5, addressed to them, at no cost to the child’s family!
