Virtual Read-a-Thon!

Join Open Books for a Virtual Read-a-Thon on Sunday, September 20th from 8am – 8pm!
Presented by the Open Books Associate Board, the Read-a-Thon will host 12 consecutive hours of reading aloud, Storytime for children, and writing workshops all online. Attendees can listen along, participate in one of the workshops, or tune in and support whenever they would like throughout the day. Get your tickets here!
This year’s Read-a-Thon will include the following activities:
- Bilingual Storytime hosted by Open Books’ very own Valeria Osornio.
- A writing workshop for 6th-12th graders, hosted by Georgette Kelly, a local playwright and teacher.
- An adult writing workshop, hosted by Cyn Vargas, a local author who teaches with Story Studio.
- Read-aloud sessions from our supporters, who will read from adult books, children’s books, short stories, and many more!
All tickets to attend this event are free, but we encourage donations to support Open Books’ literacy and book granting programs.
