Parent and Caregiver Workshops
Open Books holds workshops for parents and caregivers who want to learn about how to support kids’ literacy skills. We partner with schools, daycares, and community centers to provide literacy information suited to their needs. Groups range from parents with young children, caregivers at community organizations or other adults who work closely with children. We offer sessions both online and in person in Spanish and English.

“I loved all the tips on ways to engage your child in story time. She provided some great strategies on having interactive learning with my child even without a book. She helped me change my outlook about literacy in a positive way and I feel more confident reading to my child now. Before, I would put so much pressure on myself.”
